Retired IPS Officer Activist : Drug Awareness & Welfare of youth

Gurpreet Singh Toor obtained his Masters’ Degree from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, in 1984-85. He joined as DSP, Punjab Police in 1991. Youth getting entangled in the trap of drugs became one of the greatest cause of concern for him. He retired as Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, in May, 2022. He has authored five books entitled, Sambhlo Punjab (2010), Jeeve Jawani (2014), Allarh Umaran Talakh Sunehe (2018), Daftar (2022) and Punjabian de Athah te Fazool Kharche (2023).

Dr Balwant Singh Sandhu

Dr. Balwant Singh Sandhu holds a doctorate degree in Punjabi Literature. He is presently the Principal of Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa Girls’ College, Kamalpura (Ludhiana). He has occupied the chair of Honorary President of ‘Sher-e-Punjab Sports Academy and Welfare Club’ of the village for twelve years. He has authored seven books, dedicated to Punjabi language and literature. Keen to offer his philanthropic services for social causes, his special areas of work include youth, sports, literature and rural development.

Sh. Rahul Gupta

A Renowned Criminal Lawyer & Social Activist

Sh. Rahul Gupta graduated from Rajindra College, Bathinda, in 1973. In 1977, he won the Gold Medal in Law from Vikram College, Ujjain. Thereafter, he started his career as a Public Prosecutor in 1979. He sought voluntary retirement and started his private practice in 2003. A humanitarian to the core, he believes in the brotherhood of mankind and remains engaged in philanthropic activities to uplift the poor and the needy.

Sh. Jagjit Singh Lohatbaddi

Retired Senior Manager, Bank of India General Secretary of ‘Sabhyacharak Sathh Punjab’

Sh. Jagjit Singh Lohatbaddi graduated from Sant Baba Attar Singh Khalsa College, Sandaur (Malerkotla), and postgraduated in English Literature from Punjabi University, Patiala. He superannuated as Senior Manager in Banking sector (Bank of India). He cautioned people against falling a prey to the debt trap laid by private finance companies. His literary compositions in Punjabi include Rut Phiri Van Kambya. Presently, he is serving as the General Secretary of 'Sabhyacharak Sath Punjab'.

Ms Daljit Kaur

Principal Jagat Sevak Khalsa College for Women, Mehna (Moga) & Director, Harbans Virasar Academy

Ms Daljit Kaur is working as the Principal of Jagat Sevak Khalsa College for Women, Mehna (Moga). She is also the Director of Harbans Virasat Academy, where children are educated about Punjabi heritage and culture. Girl child education has been her major area of work. She is keenly interested in researching upon and preserving, singing and teaching folk songs, Suhag, Ghoriyan and Lammihek wale geet.

Ms. Harpreet Kaur is an experienced IT professional with more than a decade experience in different technologies and domains. She has worked in multiple projects throughout her career and has led a team of over 25 people. Her Strengths: Problem solving, Strategic planning, leading the team, coding and scripting, data analyzing, testing, communicating, event planning and participation, content creation, learning and exploring. Currently Harpreet is working as a Vice President of Edneed Technologies Private Limited.

Sh. Tej Partap Singh Sandhu

Nature Photo Artist

Sh. Tej Partap Singh Sandhu is a nature photo artist. He has many solo and group exhibitions on nature to his credit. His collection of photographs on civil and social issues of Punjab was compiled into a book “Camere Di Akh Boldi' (2001) with text by Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill. In 2004, he first thought of bringing Sikh scriptures to life through photographs. He turned author with his maiden work, Barah Maha (Majh Raag), (2005). He then worked on books ‘Raga Ratan’ (2010) and ‘Guru Nanak’s Barah Maha (Raga Tukhari)’ 2019. His alike work, Raga Ratan: Pearls of Celestial Symphony (2017), was published by Punjabi University, Patiala and its English version was prepared by S. Anurag Singh as co-author.

Dr Harminder Singh Sidhu

BHMC Doctor Environmental Activist

Dr Harminder Singh Sidhu is a BHMS doctor by profession. Showcasing the example of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), he initiated measures of effective crop residue management through 150 machines deployed in 70-80 villages. His machinery bank includes machines like ‘Baler, Mulcher, Reverse Harrow, Rotavator, Lucky Seeder and Lucky Seed Drill’. With his concerted efforts, he garnered the attention not only of people who are exposed to the dangers of stubble burning, but also, the State and Central Government, NABARD, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the United Nations Organization (UNO).

Sh. Khushwant Bargari

School Lecturer (Political Science) Owner of Literary House People’s Forum, Bargari

Sh. Khusuhwant Bargari is a school lecturer in the subject of Political Science. He is currently the President of People’s Forum, Bargari, a literary organization that tries to systematically popularize Punjabi literature. This organization has launched a mission to deliver a set of four books to the readers (approximately 800), after every two months at a nominal cost. People’s Forum, Bargari, is also making great strides as a publication house by translating good books written in other languages into Punjabi. Khushwant Bargari has been serving as the Chief Executive of this organization for the past 18 years.
